Got around to refreshing the Dana 44 I picked up a couple months go. All new seals, axle bearings and replaced a broken wheel stud. Got it cleaned up and painted too. Will look nice under the Mav when it starts coming together.

Got the 72 out of storage and brought it home to put a new set of headers, new wheels and tires, take out the reverse manual valve body, change rear gears and take out the noisy ratcheting Detroit locker and retire it from racing action and get it ready for Ky. meet in July.

In one of my other Mavericks I had a detroit ez locker and it was quiet, but this one is a Nascar take out built to my specs, I have people look at me and think that there is something wrong with my car I just tell them that is the sound of money, this is the second one I have had and the other was just as noisy and those in the know say that is the way they are. I dont know if they can be set up to be any quieter. I will be putting in a rebuilt trac loc

Are you driving or shipping the car? It would be a great drive and a boat load of fun, something I'll never be able to do with my wife, she isn't much for road trips!

We will be hauling it back on a open trailer, this will be the 5th trip to Ohio-Kentucky. We both enjoy the open road this year will be different though as we can take our time as the wife retires in June so we can do it in 5 days instead of 4. LOL . This year we are going to go to both the Gathering and the Round up

Sounds like a good time! I'm looking forward to when I can do those things. More than likely it would be me driving and picking her up at the airport!
