Vinton Motors was less than an hour from me. They always used to keep a lot of high performance new and used cars on their lot.

My uncle bought a used Grabber Blue '70 Boss 302 from them in 1971 when he got out of the Army. The dealership closed within the last 5 years or so. I always enjoyed riding by there to see what they had in stock.

That could have been MY car on the top! LOL

I hate when this happens...;) Car still has the rear tie-down brackets installed.

It only closed recently? That's a shame. Did they stay in the same building all that time? I've seen too many of these old dealers that are still around, but have succumbed to corporate dealership architecture...

Yes, they stayed in the same building until they closed. The showroom was only big enough for one or two cars.

I just found out tonight that a friend of mine recently bought the car in this picture.

The girl laying on the hood and posing with the aluminum slot wheel is the original owner and she got the car when she was in high school. She still had the car after all these years. It had been off the road and stored in a building since 1987.

He was able to buy the car from her. It is white with black stripes. It has the 250 motor and an automatic trans. It is a bench seat car. My uncle was able to see the car yesterday. He said my friend had it stored in a shed and wasn't able to get too good of a look at it because of other things stored around it. He said it looked like a pretty solid car.

That's the coolest thing EVER! Make sure we get lots of pictures!! Maybe a remake of the dealer promo shots?? Do you know if she put the slots on the car? I think the white with black (and orange) striped cars look awesome!!
