I finally got the car unshrouded in stuff, and took it out for a spin. Lots of fun, good weather. I also got the Sirius radio activated in the car so the trips won't be so aggravating. Love satellite radio!

Finally got around to installing mechanical gauges in the Stallion, oil pressure at 50lbs. Changed carb out with a Holley 600 cfm vs and now it has a predictable idle quality and more response, much happier with it now.

Finished the cowl and sanded and painted the floor, put a set of 88400 headers on... Now to build a bracket for the column shift to mate to the 91 5.0 block...

How did the 88400's fit? I have a '69.5 and every header I try gets cut by the pitman arm. Did you have problems with that?

They fit great, unsure about the exhaust pipe,as I haven't had the head pipes run yet,but the headers fit like a glove... The exhaust guy may have to be creative to clear the pitman arm,but it shouldn't be bad, maybe a dimple in the pipe... was gonna point it out to him when he gets started... The passenger side will be a short turn down... But as far as clearance, loosened one motor mount bolt, block of wood, jacked up put header on,let down repeat... I see that your retired Navy? The man that helped me get hooked up with my car is a retired Lt. Commander, was stationed in SC... Cool,Thank you for helping secure our freedom!

Took the 72 in to get a new windshield put in, raining cats and dogs so that will be good test for it. I advised them on putting sealant around clips after installation as per 71golds advice. Not cheap here $325.00 installed and I provided rubber and trim clips.

skipsgrabber; It was an honor to serve this great nation and our people. Thank you! And thanks for the help on the headers. I want shorties, and if these fit, I am going to order a set. I had a set of the hooker shorties and the pitman arm cut the #6 pipe right in half. I guess just gottta try it. Thanks again, and give your Lt. Cdr friend a thank you for his service from me.
    Take care,

I started cutting the towers back for the FE. Then I tore down the year worth of work on the FE after a block failure during dyno break-in. (#1 sleeve failure) strkfl.jpg strkfl1.jpg

The 88400's have the same configuration as stock manifolds... Same exit location and what not... Just a little longer...

Epic failure on windshield install, car was outside in the rain for less than 5 minutes and water was pouring in on drivers side top corner and seeping in on passenger side lower corner. So off comes the trim and more sealant massaged in behind trim clips and every where else. All good now but leery of the future I told him that they were hard to seal and he knew that and said this is the first one he has ever had a problem with, this person has installed several windshields for me over the years but none with trim like these have but he has done Mustangs, he told me to bring it back if he ever had problems.

Windshield had 3 spacers under the rubber, I gave him 4 to put back under new windshield

Sometimes I think it is the build of these cars. I've heard people say windshield went in with no leaks, others can't get them to seal easily. On my 71 my old windshield had tons of sealer, I cleaned it up and smoothed out the sealer that was there installed my new windshield and had a leak free seal on first try...
