After working on a creeper to pull the tranny out of my '75, I had enough of that and brought the car trailer down yesterday and loaded a brand new 4 post lift on it this afternoon. Will take it up and erect it my next trip back to the shop. Includes two sliding hydraulic jacks, a full set of drip pans, and it's the extra height so I can get my truck under it when it's up in the air. That and the caster kit to move it around if I want to. Whoo Hoo...

It should have a Maverick on it for quite a few years into the future. Initially to get the '75 back running and moving, then the '70 goes on for a full restoration. Will be nice to store that one in the air except when I'm messing with it and still use the space underneath.

Drove it on the freeway for the first time. Need just a hair more toe in, among other things. One 30 to 50 mph sprint in first gear :bouncy:......will be interesting to get the 2.79 out and the 3.25 in!

Stu sounds like you will be able to take your car to Woodburn for the All Ford meet. I went the opposite direction and went from a 4.00 gear to a 3.25 lots friendlier on the street as yours will be also

I am looking forward to it. I have this weekend to put a few miles on the car and gain a little confidence in it, but it drives fairly good finally.

Yeah depending on tires you may want to go with a 3:50(of course if the 3:25 is on hand it's a no brainer)... With the 255/60/15 on back of mine, it requires the same gear to correct speedo with the 3:00 that's normally used for a 2.79 gear... So basically that's the ratio in mine...

Took the Comet to the Woodward Dream Cruise today! Only saw four Mavericks total, one of which belongs to another forum member whom I met up with. It was a great time! Anyone else there today?

Man...I haven't been on this forum in forever...about as long as it's been since my Maverick has been fired up and taken around the block. Put a new battery and some fresh fuel in her today and fired right up. Took her for a spin around the block, getting new tags Monday in preparation for the Wapato Showdown next Saturday. Tomorrow she's going to get a much needed bath and maybe some cuddle time.:bananaman:

Drove my car to work today and heard some guys talking about this "awesome car in the parking lot". Walked outside and there's a group of eight guys admiring my car. Didn't get back to work for another 40 minutes. :D

She got a BATH! Much needed and much overdue. Have a lot of paint touch up to do, several paint chips and the neighbors horse pushed a chain link fence down the back driver side quarter leaving some nice scratches. Oh well, life could be worse!
