Has about 14,925 miles currently. The car is at my mother's house in Maine and had it locally for $7500 with out any takers. Am I asking to much? I know I have an emotion connection to the car due to family ties and memories. Consistently seeing good condition, low mileage Mavericks selling in the low $7k's on Ebay. I'm not a car guy by any means and would appreciate any input.
More pictures and description would be needed to give you a fair estimate. These cars have lots of little places for rust to hide and make a car that looks great turn into a nightmare. First thing to do is pour a bucket of water slowly down the cowl area (louvered area by windshield wipers) and see if front floor boards have water on them, check the lip of the hood around nose chrome for rust, look for bubbles around rear and front fender wells just to name a few areas of concern especially if the car was driven in the winter in an area were the roads are salted. If he car had a 250 6 or a v8 would help sales as well. If there are no ares of concern then the asking price is more than fair, location of cars for sale sometimes hamper there sales, this is good spot to sell one as well as Facebook, ebay gets the most people looking at it but can be a hassle with non paying bidders. Dont be in a hurry to sell it and dont take less than your asking price unless you are between a rock and a hard spot. I would buy it in a heart beat but t is on the other coast from me, cant get much farther away. Good luck with the sale and let the buyer know about this site. Just looked at the pics you posted in the Garage and car looks very pristine looks like it belongs in a museum so I doubt it has any of the above problems mentioned above
Thanks for all the info. I did have it up on a lift last week and took some pictures that I'll post. There are a few rust areas on the left rear and right front wheel well areas. I'll definitely post the trouble areas. Btw, love that Cobra and thanks again for tbe help.
Small dent in front bumper at a parking lot and small ping in window from a logging truck. I bought a new, old stock medallion/emblem that i haven't put on yet. Might as well put on what's under the hood...
Well it is not as pristine as it looked in the garage pics but nothing that cant be fixed, just takes time and money. I looked at your ad on craigslist and you forgot to mention it here that there is no title for the car, that can be a deal breaker for some people I imagine there is a way to get one for states that require a title like Oregon.
When water comes on the floor after being poured down the cowl area it is a good indication of a rusted out cowl and requires that area be cut open and rust repair takes place, not something for an amateur to take on. Usually the floor pan in that area will be rusted out as well. Some people will just weld pieces on top of the cowl to prevent water from entering it. If the water comes in when poured on windshield it may just be the rubber seal is bad and should be expected from an original seal or is coming in around windshield wiper arms.
