It looks very straight forward but doesn't hurt to ask for advise. My car has air conditioning so I will need to factor that into the wiring. I am considering using "Allstar Performance Curved Blade Electric Fans ALL30076". Only $95 at Summit Racing and wiring it up with "Derale Single-Stage Fan Controllers 16735". What is everyone else using?
Taurus junkyard fan and Dakota Digital controller. On an AC car and that thing can move some CFM. Micah
I think that 1980 cfm is too small for a 6-cyl. Look for something around 2800 cfm or better to cool a V8
new Taurus fan from rock auto $85 cools my 400 hp small block no problem stays at 165 on 90 degree days this is a 2 speed fan as original
I have seen those fans on Ebay for around $100.00 bucks. I am thinking about getting one. This is the complete assembly fan, shroud and pigtail. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-1990-95...ash=item339dba0bf4:g:7IsAAOSwrklU3WsT&vxp=mtr
I agree w/ Jeff, a 1600 is not nearly enough, esp., in the southern part of the country. I don't think it wud cool the car even if AC is not used. I'm running Derale single fan controller & Flex-a Lite 118 Low Boy @ 2500 advertised cfm; on days around 90+ degs. This is w/ a DIY constructed fan shroud, it will run 220+ waiting for train/parades, etc, 20+ min wait.
I have junkyard Taurus fan, junkyard Volvo controller, and BMW temp switch (the 177 degree low speed) 3 core factory radiator, 13lb cap. I am going to install some LEDs, 1 for each speed, so I can tell what it is doing. It will idle forever with the low speed on more than off, but does turn off.....have not tested in severe heat, and dont have AC.
I was going to do the lights once but it was only going to tell me there was power going to the fan not that the fan was running.
What do these fans look like installed? As thick as they are I would think there would be issues with the fan hitting the water pump shaft. Can anyone post some pictures?
