    Hi Will:
Nope ! I have a Comet Hood but it's all fiberglass with a large Scoop . I got the hood 20 years ago when I bought a 72 Comet from a retired drag-racer . The Comet had Fiberglass Doors , Trunk Lid , Fenders , and this hood . I've since sold everything but the hood and I wouldn't recommend the hood for anything thats going to be driven on the street.
I had it on MY Comet years ago before I bought ANOTHER Comet and then I removed it and placed it in one of the Trailers . Nice Hood .. But more for a Racer-Type Dude .. I doubt there's another OUT THERE .. at least I've not heard or read of any . Are you going to set the Comet up for Yourself or are you going to ' flip' it ? Just curious.

Right now the plan is to make it into a “stabber” clone. But we first need to really clean out the car and make sure there is no hidden rot before we really do anything. Not planning on flipping it or parting at this time.

The Hood is in the ' NOSE ' of one of our trailers with a LOT of stuff behind it .. Fenders, Doors , Grilles, Glass , and
I don't really have time to dig it out now . The hood is in Great Shape and it's an exact reproduction of our Original Comet Hood the body lines meet perfectly .. It isn't gouged , chipped , or scraped , its set up for FOUR Hood Pins and that's how I ran it on MY Comet years ago . A new owner would have to install two hood pin receivers on each end of the hood . ( total of 4 pins ) . Hood isn't heavy , I used to take it off (by myself) at the shows and set it on top of my Comet on the Roof to get it out of the way. and its got a coating of Red Primer on it and I have NO CLUE what it weighs .. ( A lot less than a metal hood for sure ) ..

Replaced the tired C4 with a rebuilt unit, and put in a floor shifter from a 67-68 Mustang.

Hmmmm.....you are correct. I did notice a decrease in performance when I took it out, so maybe change the jets back and look at the mixture. It seems like no matter how good it runs, it is always rich at idle. I did have to change the little red rubber stopper in the accel pump. It was leaking down, and was torn.

If you can adj mixture screws inward till engine begins to stumble, they are performing exactly as intended... It's normal for non computer controlled, no catalytic converter engines to be aromatic...

Adjusting mixture for highest vacuum reading usually gives best results... If it's too lean they'll be misfires causing idle aroma... And too rich? Well it's just going to stink...

Took my distributor out, took it apart, and soldered a piece of brass into it to limit the centrifugal advance to 12 degrees. Put it back in and set initial to 24. Adjusted the points about 15 times trying for 28....settled for 26. Drove around a bit without pinging, but my carburetor started acting up again cutting my test session short.....But I do have 24 initial, 12 with weights all in at 2500, and 10 with the vacuum pot. Still starts easily after heat soak, but was only in the 60s today. I think the distributor is done and the points will soon just be a trigger for TFI !!!!!
