Trying to help this fella locate his old car. I originally posted in the "Sand Box" as he sold the car in Arizona back in 2001. He has since been in contact with the people he sold it to and they had recently sold the car to someone in Michigan. Details are scarce, but I'd love to see this guy find his old (and first) car.

The car is a 1975 with small bumper swap, and had a Grabber hood on it when he sold it. VIN 5K91L174590

The last I was talking to the person, he said the car was sold out of Britton, Michigan "a few years ago"...

    From his FB post:

Question for the group. I sold my first maverick, my first car, my pride [and] joy, back in 2001 and have kicked myself in the ass everyday for it. But being a newly married couple back then with 2 kids, at the time it’s something I had to do. I’ve always wondered what happened to it. And if it is still out there floating around. I knew the license plate number, but couldn’t find any old paperwork of mine that showed the vin so I could do some sort of research on the whereabouts now. Well I happen to be at the DMV here in Az yesterday and gave them the plate number and sure as [$#!%], they had the VIN on file. But that’s all the info they had. Does anyone know how I could find out where it is just by using the VIN somehow? If I remember right, I sold it to someone that lived in Flagstaff, Az. But later heard that it might be somewhere in New Mexico. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What I would give to get it back.

It would be interesting to see and hear stories about people that have looked for cars they sold and actually found them.

While writing this post, I thought it may become a good idea for a new Forum section: Dude, where's my Maverick? As these cars (and their owners) are getting older, this is becoming more frequent of a request. i end up hearing about a lot of them due to my involvement with the VIN Lists. Two people here in Canada had contacted me with similar requests. One of them actually DID find his old car and is now in the process of finding it. He ended up finding it on his own, but still a cool story.
