with a 70 mav 4 lug, do new wheels need to slip on to the hub snuggly or could I use wheels that have a larger center bore? Seems like a bad idea considering that the studs would be the only thing holding it. i wanted to go with Cragar Quick Tricks, but the hole is a lot bigger than the hub. Other than that, they are the same dimensions as stock for the most part.

Heres my reason for new wheels. The pits are rather deep: 20180613_153556.jpg

a larger center bore won't hurt, the lug nut seats/centers the rim.

So the studs would be strong enough on their own? That would be great

Aftermarket wheels assume so.. The center opening is almost always as large the hub of a particular pattern will allow.

The '70-up Ford hubs are larger than '69-prev, nowhere has Ford stated not to use later wheels on earlier vehicles. Of course it's obvious the early wheels will not fit '70-up.
