Today I picked up a Comet light weight fiberglass hood.
Then I stoped by my friends house (Blink71 the guy that bought Craig Atkins Comet) and he has a truck load of parts for me...
    Mustang high back bucket seats
    9 inch axle
    Set of 14x7 steel wheels
    Aluminum 4BL intake
    just to name a few.
And the other day he drove 100 miles to pick up a 71-72 Comet front bumper for me.

Hey guys, do these look like V8 frame mounts?
The car originally came with a 250 I6 but these look like V8 mounts to me.

Well I dunno, are similar to ones in my Comet. Best pict I have.

With yours originally having P/S, either the bracket on driver side has been removed or mounts maybe swapped.

Posting some pictures of the under side of my rust bucket!
Sorry about the picture quality, I was in a hurry to take them before it rained. 7FA1F16A-14C6-4151-B67C-1B22D279EED3.jpeg D36111EE-693D-4AC7-816F-2AB341B17AD8.jpeg B3E58D1B-E1D0-4F4B-BFCB-44567A866B0F.jpeg 6B8C8440-DEE5-4238-AEBF-37D769AF7DEB.jpeg B7239B3E-11A5-447B-940C-1BCF140176C2.jpeg You can see a 1” rust hole in the right quarter panel. 9B03847E-2FF8-4C66-B27E-2D63E6DF521F.jpeg 70C327DB-CA72-42F1-BE89-FBEC264A2B09.jpeg EF1811EC-59F4-4F2E-A699-3F0578517CB0.jpeg 1B3A1149-A507-4FD3-B94D-E54252B4DB9E.jpeg FD97628F-265D-4A40-B17B-A0C20DDA7E8E.jpeg CB0110F8-37FE-4331-8860-3F11F580CEAC.jpeg 27B4E36C-4313-4822-B4D2-4EE57D9D742B.jpeg 10886B3D-CF6F-4205-98D6-F6A6C0794A0A.jpeg EDBFC171-C190-4D1F-933F-4B3C8992ED79.jpeg D7C2A731-641F-4507-BFDC-E5E932FD8741.jpeg 314CC407-91A2-4277-8F67-5AE155FDB288.jpeg F7079D5D-C0E7-46EC-879D-7BA1EFD5D2ED.jpeg 4E45D6DC-77CC-403A-946D-DFE8DFCB2F38.jpeg B9D395F4-2E99-4E85-87D5-DDF95F53A7C2.jpeg Then we pushed it into the shed for its winter nap.

Very nice car! Your friend actually just sent me a few sport steering wheels! The bumper looks fantastic! He was asking me questions on it when he bought it.

Cool, if I remember corectly he said that he was swapping some sport steering wheels for a lower dash panel.

He was thinking about building the 75 Comet but decided it was more of a project than he wanted to tackle, I think he’s just as excited about me building the Comet as I am.

Bill’s been a great friend and mentor to me for over 30 years!

Yeah I shipped him an absolutely flawless 74 lower dash for a sport steering wheel with the grips and then bought another one him. He’s a great guy to deal with. He even put a maverick emblem in the steering wheel for me. Cam out great!

Sounds like you guys will have a good time with the build!
