Removed dash, steering column, and factory AC box. Found that a previous owner must have melted or broken the turn signal switch plug into the wiring harness, as they had all the wires joined with butt connectors. Looks like there will be much soldering in the near future.

I took Hot Rock to Quaker City Raceway last night for Street Night. Hot Rock ran 12.80s at 104 mph. My Comet is not as quick at Quaker City as other tracks in the area as the end of the track actually rises in elevation. I have been told a total of six feet.

Regardless, I was satisfied with the runs.

Replaced the steering coupler rag joint that was nearly torn in two. Primed, painted various parts that Ford saw fit to leave as uncoated bare metal. Apparently, bare metal is an excellent rust magnet. If there is any rust around, it will stick to it. Fortunately, I have also found white vinegar to be an excellent rust remover. Did a little cowl surgery in preparation for the new AC.

I removed the electric Taurus fan today, and found it feels a little funky when turning the fan. Has a regular binding feel when turned, and feels a bit tight. I'm gonna get a new fan next week and see if I can get this thing back up.

    Hey Earl:
If the fan was cooling properly .. why not just change the motor .. It's quick and you can find a motor easy.
I put NEW motors on three cars now that had Mark 8 Shrouds and Fan .. They work great . Just a thought .

Chip, the last time I tried to change the motor, I messed up the shaft, and it didn't turn out so good. I have a motor, if I could just get the thing on the shroud without bending the shaft. What did you use to push the motor out of the housing?

Yeah, the 72's work just fine. I ran the engine up to 6500rpm, and no pops or sputters. Runs a bit smoother also. I think I'll leave it alone.

    Hey Earl:
First .. pop the clip off the end of the shaft and the blade SHOULD come right off .. If it's been on there awhile then
you might need to apply WD40 numerous times to loosen it .. Then Hold it by the fan BLADES .. and have a friend TAP the shaft with a hammer and it should come off . As for removing the motor from the shroud , you have to drill out the 3 Rivets and when installing the NEW motor .. simply use bolts and nuts of the proper size .Maybe 5/16ths
    inch . GOOD LUCK ..

Moved the 347 from the POS engine cradle I bought from ebay and put it on the engine stand. Then I pulled the sludge bucket out of the car and put it on the POS engine cradle. When that engine goes to my brother he gets that cradle too!

I also spilled ATF all over the floor which baffles me. I have had that C4 standing on end (both ends) for days at one point, pulled the pan and it still has fluid in it! I think my wife adds it to mess with me.

Thanks Chip, I'll see if I have the right motor, and if not, get one. I'll let you know how it goes.

Not today but last week hauled the Stallion back to Somerset Kentucky and participated in the Mustang Somernites event, some 1,600+ cars were there not all Mustangs but a good amount of them. It was a great time and I won the award for long haul. Met up with the gang from Somerset and had lunch and dinner and then Saturday night after the show had a hicknic ( sitting on the side of the street in front of Cracker Barrel eating pizza ) and watching the cars cruise by. Lots of rubber left every where and gets pretty wild. Left car in Somerset for a face lift by a really good painter now I just have to wait until next July to go get it
