will be addressing this later in the week...
I have a temp Gremlin...Dakota Digital gauge on dash reads 192*...MSD EFI hand held reads 172*...temp gun reads 162* about anywhere I shoot the engine less exhaust manifolds...180* T-stat (new). I can hold top rad, hose with my hand, can also lay my hand on rad. top tank... with E-waterpump on I can see fluid moving in top tank...
ordered 2 new temp sensors and installed them, no change in temps... temp sensors are located in each head.

192* with a 180 T-Stat is normal. The T-Stat opens at 180. Your hand held is taking a temp from the outside the engine, again, normal to be somewhat less than the coolant temp. Unless it's boiling over I wouldn't worry about it. 192* is normal temp for operating.

thanks...thing is, at one time they were within 3-4* of each other, the sensors are ...one in each head...
the Atomic EFI turns the fans on low at 180* so the dash temp is over 200*. the 2nd fan is set for 195*, so the dash would be in the teens* before coming on...:whew:

I would set it to where both fans come on at 190 then. How did you mount sensors in the heads ? Even so the temps in the teens isn't that hot. That's normal for mine. Hell, my brain switch on my fan doesn't come on sometimes till 240-250* :biglaugh:And that's aluminum heads on iron block.

I had a brain switch that came on at 225* (aluminum heads on iron block) and almost gave me a heart attach...:yikes:
