This will be for a mild 302. i dont want anything over the top as im not going to race it of course, but i do need a carb that will be good for when i want to have a little fun. i want a 4 barrel thats easy to work on and easy to change parts on as i tune it.

i want either a holley or an edelbrock because of ease of parts. be specific when you make a recommendation please.

this may be a stupid question, but when it says electric choke does that mean an automatic choke? this is what i used to call them 25yrs ago. spring controlled. and if not...what do i need to do to connect the choke? sorry lol

EDIT: found a video that explained it. pretty simple.

I have mild 302 , running a Holly 600 cfm, #804575A type, single pump, elec. choke. Had it since 2009 when I got the car. It was new at the time and have had good luck w/it.
No more spring load heat riser chokes on these carbs I am aware of; look to supply 12volts to the choke.
I don't like manual chokes; I can start the car in all but the coldest weather and drive off w/in a minute or so and have no issues - unless I get heavy on throttle for a few blocks.

I think you have one to many 5’s in that part#(n)
The last two should be letters SA.

4160 for my vote too ………… 80457sa ………… the pump squirter is often a bit lean running. I go up a couple sizes with these.

For a driver where performance isn't the main goal. I like Edelbrock carbs. An Edelbrock 1403 500 cfm would work best in my opinion.

For an inexpensive 4 barrel carburetor I prefer the Summit brand. They are more sophisticated than the base Holley and perform well for street and strip. The package even includes the fuel feed line, extra cost with some Holleys.

I had the the 570cfm street avenger on my 302, it worked really well. I went to a 650cfm double pump with the 351 i put in last year. I still have the 570cfm if interested PM me.

This is the old Holley 4010/4011 series that Summit ended up taking over 10 years ago? I still have mine, great carb with its one piece body, no more leaks or warpage!
