difference between an L6 200 and 250

    hello friend how can I tell the difference between an L6 200 and 250 I would appreciate any help, thanks

    Easiest way is look at starter position. A 200 has a high mount, three bolt starter. The 250 starter is low, approx even with oil pan rail.

    Fifth digit of VIN is T if 200, L 250.

    '74 Maverick 250 5-Speed.'60 Falcon V8. '63.5 Falcon HT
    250 has 4 bolt water pump...200 has 3 bolts. Late 200's have low mount starter same as the 250

    That didn't happen until the '80s and are not directly interchangeable with the early 200.
