So i notice my oil spray thought i fixed wasnt from my oil pressure gauge line, but is actually from my fuel pump.

However the oil is NOT coming from the weep hole, but rather from under the ring on the outside where it is pressed together. It puddles up around the top edge. When wipped clean it very slowly seeps out from the pressed area.

In yalls opinion is this ok to seal using either gasket seal or jb weld or does this mean the membrane inside has ruptured?

Ive always seen the weep hole leak not anything else. The pic shows the top area pressed to the other. Oil doesnt smell like gas.

Never seen one leak there! Best to get rid of it now! Their cheap enough, and they will leak Fuel into the Oil Pan! Go Elec. Pump and block off the Block there . Four to six PSI from Pump to Carb or you might have pressure problems.

Yep, ditch the leaking pump for a new one. Maybe a Holley mechanical pump?

A little late but somewhat related... Many years ago I ran an Edelbrock 6-valve fuel pump that shot oil out the weep holes all over the engine compartment from new. It must have been a somewhat common problem with them because when I called Edelbrock about the problem with my new pump they offered to sell me a special $30 gasket that was supposed to take care of the problem. Just saying, I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy an Edelbrock pump.
I like the Carter Street pumps, basically the same as the old Boss 302 pumps.

I have been running mechanical EdelBrock fuel pump now for 4 or 5 years? Absolutely no issues at all. Maybe it was just a bad batch.

On a side note i got a replacement $20 pump on tuesday to hold me over until i got the pump i wanted. It was a Precision brand from oreilies.

I put it on and fired it up. It immediatly started weeping what looked like oil at the seams. Same place as the other one did. I thought maybe just maybe it was residue from manufacturing. I drove it down the road 3 miles and checked it. Cleans as can be. I thought good, im in the clear.

On the way back home as soon as i hit 60mph the engine surged and tried to die. I backed off and it kept stumbling. Finally it died and i was stranded on the side of the road.

Called the wife to bring me pump i had just took off and put it back on. Fired right up and i went home slow.

Ive been doing a lot of reading these last few days and the state of fuel pumps is sad. Most are crap from china sold at american parts stores of course. Im getting fed up with this.

Yeah, not everyone has a problem and my instance was about 15 years ago. I just didn't care for Edelbrock's "solution".

Maybe it’s time to install a electric pump.
My friend has been trying to talk me out of putting a electric pump on my car but it’s just not working. I would go with a Holley mechanical pump but the one I’ve seen isn’t rebuildable, and a electric would allow HP upgrades in the future along with other advantages .

I’ve narrowed it down to to brands/pumps.
Tanks Inc. PA2, my concern with this one is I’ve heard reports of guys buying their “kit” to find out the pump is not included.

And Hyperfuels Hy-Fuel tight fit in tank retrofit kit.

Other than a long worn out(maybe loose) pump, I've never seen one leak oil. Both my Comet and '69 Fairlane have a fairly new auto parts special, neither leak. Pump on Cobra Jet is a early '90s Carter. I keep saying I'm going to replace(or maybe rebuild), at 28+ years thinking diaphragm could leak fuel into oil.

I'd say any new pump that leaks is junk.

Yep. The 3 month old one and the 1 day old one leaked around the flange part where the 2 sections are crimp pressed together.

Do they look like they’re made by the same manufacturer?

Yes. I know for sure the second was a "precision" brand. I cant remember what the first was, but they look almost identical.
