    Just aquired this 72 today. Went over car problem areas.
    Why do people do things like this?

    A combination of mig weld, fiberglass and bondo.

    A little more bondo and fiberglass and some sanding and it will be just fine, those Brazilian Comet hoods are very hard to come by.

    Yes but you’ll need a couple of friends to help you open the hood just to check the oil!:rofl2:

    Might take a hammer tommorrow and start beating on the thing. Hoping he did a horrible job and bondo will crack away and scope just falls off.
    Will post result.

    I don’t recommend “beating” on the hood, but it’s yours do as you wish.

    Use a propane torch to heat the bondo and scrape it off.

    Got it off, took 5 min with a flat screwdriver.
    He used sheetrock screws, fiberglass and bondo.
