On lift or laying on back!!! Both equally hard work in my opinion.
    Awesome job!

Had mine like this, sat on stools of various heights using a grinder, scraper and finally a needle scaler. Still have more to do but we moved mid way through the fun.

That looks like a lot to get done in 8 hours. I bet it left a mess on the floor.

How did you accomplish the tilt and mounting car to wood? Interesting.

Thanks Everett. This is my original car, not the twin I bought from John. It has a Dart block 347, TKO-500 and 4-linked 9".

Saw a guy online that made one for his fox body and figured I'd give it a shot. I built brackets for the front to mount in the bumper bolt holes and bolted the rear through the holes for the bumper and ran a support to the tie down brackets the dealer was supposed to remove before the sale. I did make the front and rear boards too short which made it difficult to tip and it didn't want to stay up. I bolted the "kick stand" to the door hinges, upper and lower to angle it.

I like em both! Don't recall seeing the original car at any of the events I have attended? Thought you might have shown up in Springfield this year. Interested in how you accomplished that 4-link; not that I am going to do it -- just like to admire other folks work.
Lastly, what's the plan for the new Mav?

I thought I saw a setup like that somewhere on the net, don't recall where. For undercarriage work that tilt is a lot better than a lift not having to constantly reach overhead. Nice job on the tilt! Can't decide what I like most -- the tilt or that great looking , well lite work area. If I had that setup, would spend more time in the garage. I know I would, esp., if it is heated? How far along/estimate before on the road?

I would have liked to come up to Springfield, but I had family business that weekend. Last time I brought the original car out was probably Elizabethtown back in 2007 or so. The 4-link was done by a buddy of mine who ran his own fab shop. It's all custom. Retains the rear seat. As for the new car, I'm just tweaking it and driving it. Might consider putting A/C on it next year. IMG_0300.JPG

I have a renewed sense of excitement so I hope to be on the road in a couple years or less. I just turned 50 in June and I told my wife I will drive this car to and on Power Tour by the time I hit 55. Wish me luck!

Awesome Piece of Work. Nice welds, that guy is good. I didn't get into the Mav/Comet world until 2009 and went to first RU in Hannibal, MO. 2010. When I look at your suspension, I am envious. Do you have the car in the forum garage?

The problem was you did this after I did mine and it was too late for me to steal your design!
