I just bought my 75 Maverick today, it's got rot in the usual places floors and bottoms of front fenders and rear quarters. The car has the little six in it now but I have a LS3 and a 4L80 transmission along with a Lincoln MK VIII IRS and a full cage, I hope I don't anger any purists but the engine and trans came out of my car that got totaled. I am in need of a windshield and a right front window

Welcome to the site from northeast Ohio!!!

If someone is a purist they won't have much in common with most Maverick and same vintage Comet owners. That is what is so wonderful about these cars. We are like artists and our cars are what we create.

Hello from Washington State. I considered doing the LS as well but made a great deal on a 347. Doesn't rule out a future project though!

    Welcome:Welcome:...
Windshield should be able to installed by competent shop who works on older cars. Had tinted one installed about 5 years ago. If self installing, should be able to order one on the web.

    :Welcome: from Wisconsin!

When you look for a donor door glass, there are 2 types and around 1975 is when they changed. The glass is the same size in all 2 door cars, but the holes in the glass to mount it changed from 24" to 20". Make sure to check your regulator so you know which one to look for. All windshields are the same size so any donor car, 2 or 4 door will work.

Also Canadian made cars have different door glass due to the hole placement, and you can get tinted or non tinted from factory AC cars as well .

I used to be a purist but no longer am, its hard to beat the power that can be made with an LS motor and the $ spent to get it

Welcome from Portland, OR. I dont think anyone dreams about a stock Maverick around here....and LS motors look to me like they were hatched out of a Ford egg, so go for it!

Welcome from the Northeast! Looks like you have a good starter there. Remember, at the end of the day it's your car/your rules. Do what makes you happy.
