Question on AOD trans for my 73 Comet

    Have a 1973 Comet with 302 and manual 3 speed trans, want to install a AOD trans in car, what all is needed to do this change

    stock...164 tooth blockplate
    164 tooth 28 oz. flexplate (Summit)
    stock...converter w/AOD and N/S switch pigtail ('87 F-150)
    stock... length driveshaft
    355 rear gear (Summit)
    stock... Maverick floorshifter
    Lokar...TV cable and corrector (Summit)
    TV/TC bracket - SRK-4000 - Throttle Cable-TC1000U
    TV Cable - KD-2AODHT

    What is the length difference between the driveshaft behind a 200 and c4 and the 302 and c4? I'm wanting to do the aod conversion as well.

    Make sure you get a c-4 rear seal. You would want to replace this anyway. Many of the later vehicles had a larger diameter yoke.

    I am getting a Performance Automatic AOD with manual valvebody, so I guess the tv cable wont be needed, do I have to get a different trans crossmember , if so where to buy it
