    Well after pulling off the old filler neck, the new one is different. I guess I'll try and see if I can get a welder to take the ends off so i can use the old one with the new part for the gas cap.

    You have a California emissions gas tank. Seems like they are completely different. Might be easier to switch to the new repop gas tank.

    If I wanted to spend another 300 then yes I would agree but I'm hard headed. I took the new neck and old one to a welder. Gonna have him take the part off the end of the new one and put it on the old one. That is the plan anyway.

    Make sure it’s clocked so the cap is in the correct position when closed.

    Took out the clutch pedal, manual brake pedal. Put in the Auto brake pedal.

    Picked up a 71 comet 4 door today with 35k original miles. Unfortunately it sat neglected for many years.... it will now become a nice parts car! The dash will soon be painted and going into my 73 maverick. Also even though it is a 4 door it does have the stainless steel inserts!
