I am missing the grill to my car. It has a couple clear turn signals in the car above the bumper. I am assuming that is what it came with. What determined if the lights were above the bumper or below?

The turn signals are supposed to be below the bumper in the front valance. The clear lights in the grill are sport lamps.

Thanks. I actually did not see those small turn signals under the bumper! The lenses were not on them. So the sport lamps come on with the headlights. The grill with sport lamps for 1972, would that have been the same for other years? I may have to acquire a parts car............

The sport lamps have their own switch on the dash. Beginning in '73, the park lamps/turn signals were moved to the grill.

OK . On mine it looks like the sports lamps brackets are welded to the core support area. So, the grill goes in and has holes in it for the lamps to fit through? I don't have much to go on since there is no grill. They put some mesh type stuff in there instead of a grill. Thanks again for your help.

The lights are on brackets that are tacked to the core support. 302 V-8 in the car turns so I have to see if it will run ! This car has the 93 in the VIN. It shows to be a factory 6 cylinder car. The V-8 looks very factory in it.

Ive got a grille from my 75 here in AZ. Has a few broken/cracked tabs but i just used a large washer and it held on fine. Has the lamps in the grille like the one you linked to.

If you look those triangular brackets are actually bolted to the core support. Matt

A grill from any year Maverick will fit, originally if your car is a Grabber the grill would be black. If you dont car about the grill lights you could just unplug them and use a plain Jane grill without lights mounted in it. The grills are fairly hard to find that dont have broken mounting point or 2, someone on this forum could probably help you out like Static above is offering, maybe put an ad in the parts wanted section like Static . Hard part is getting it shipped to you in one piece at a reasonable cost

To have a box made and shipped through UPS you are looking at around $100...

A guy out here has one out of a 73 I think. It has yellow lights. I can maybe talk him out of it and put clear lights in it.
