That is a screaming deal. I wonder if those parts will last longer than 10 minutes?

I would bet they come off the same production line as Proform with less strict tolerances but, I have the same concerns. They have sold quite a few so I would think there would be some feedback by now.

Yeah I really miss driving my car, the last time it was on the road was 2007. It has sat I'm my garage for the last 10 years when we moved into out house in 2009. I have had to stop myself bringing other projects home. My comet was my first car and I plan to keep it and not sell it ever.

Well the sale of my buick didn't happen. The guy drove all the way out to Utah and said it needs everything and nothing us usable on the car. He also said I don't know how to describe a car or put on a convertible top. He said that someone will end up taking me to court over the car. I really don't know what he wanted. I told him that if he wanted a car that was nicer he was shopping in the wrong price bracket. I sent him a bunch of pictures and had talked to him over the phone on multiple occasions describing everything that was wrong with a 50 year old unrestored car. He told me he wanted a car that was a driver and that's what my buick is.

It all depends what your idea of a driver is. Some think it is a 100 point show car, the rest of us think or hope that it will get us home.

I here you. I’m in the same boat. I’ve got a nice driver 72 Cougar XR7 vert that needs a top and interior. Everyone says it’s too much work. Some folks do expect a lot for the lower prices some time.

Sometime they can look good and still not get you home(or at least cause a struggle)

Sunday afternoon June 30, my Fairlane in the Belk parking lot, Beckley WV.

I had carb down to parade rest, never did get it to run decent and it was NEW. A friend later said he had same issue with exact carb, apparently it's a Chinese knockoff of the orig Motorcraft. Tossed the orig 2bbl from Comet on it and it runs great.

I looked the closest car I could find for sale was a 1969 wildcat convertible. It was for sale for $19,500. The only things different was that it had a professionally installed new top. A decent paint job, and a little cleaner interior. The engine compartment looked about the same as mine. So I consider a driver a car I can hop in and drive 500 miles in a day and not worry about it breaking down.

Here is a pic of the car for reference, can't you tell it needs everything. 20190828_173201.jpg

Found the ad, I don't think your price is out of line at all provided the driver side isn't caved in. To be honest, the fact that there are no pictures of that side is usually a red flag in my opinion and I wouldn't spend much time on the ad. Even if it isn't pretty I would rather see it and know what all four sides of the car look like.

Some people are just tools, want something for nothing. Drive that car to a big midwest swap meet and fly back with a wad of cash!

Well I have someone serious about buying my buick looking at it tonight. If all goes well I think I'll be buying parts later this week.

Might be that same guy that drove from Utah.
Did you come down on price or still the same?
