Not comet/mav related but could be!

I experienced a stall and no start few days ago in truck after letting it idle for a few min. Truck has 429 with 750 carb.

I know i,m expetiencing vapor lock because fuel line and filter is hot and dry. Fuel usually spill from line when i disconnect line to carb. When this happens line is dry.

Trying to resolve this issue i replaced 750 demon carb with a holley 2300 and replaced pump.

Truck ran great on home from work in near 80 degree temp. In yard i let idle and watched temp. Idled great at 190 for about 10 min. I went to rev motor and started sputter and died. No restart. Pulled line and dry again.

My next plan is to reroute line and filter and wrap with something.

    I,m also researching electric pump.

Any of you installed an electric fuel pump inline with your mechanical pump? Or should i be thinking abandoning mechanical for an electric?

Would love to hear your solution.

I,m having problem with my 77 f100/429. No return.
What i,ve decided to do first because i,ve never had vapor lock problem since owning a carb car since 87 is to reroute fuel line from pump to carb and relocating filter.

Big block making a lot of heat sitting at idle. May even try a Taurus fan i have if it fits.

Will update because it still applies to our mavs/coms.

I should add. Motor not overheating but heat is lingering in engine compartment. My thinking is tarus fan would blast air in and out of compartment.

Yea, Taraus fan probally blast it/heat inside the vehicle. I have a 16" single fan on my Comet and I can feel heat blowing clean out the rear bumper if fan is running and I'm in the rear of car. Also, have two layers of interior fioor insulation and jute back carpet and get floor/toe board temps in the 90's when engine @ full temp in summer season. Before I put the second layer "dbl face alum" insulation, was getting floor/drive shaft hump temps in the 110 range.
