I'm looking for some pictures or diagrams showing the throttle linkage setup (from the pedal to the carb) along with the C4 kickdown linkage setup for a 1970 200 cid. I know this was an odd year and have been searching for pictures online. It seems the website that used to have the diagrams (1bad6t.com) is down. I appreciate any help you can give!!
Thanks! I appreciate the diagram. So, in 1970, which carburetor would have been used with the 200? A YF or the RBS?
I believe it's more of a which engine got RBS, AFAIK all the taller 250 used it. The YF is too tall to fit air cleaner and close hood.
All 1970 Maverick 200's had the YF - there was a slight difference for manual and automatic transmissions.
Does anyone have a passenger side view picture of the 1970 linkage actually connected to the carb? I bought the 1970 intake manifold bellcrank bracket with the short arm that goes up to the carb. I don't have a YF, but I figured with some modification to the short arm, I can make it work. However, when the bellcrank is pulled back (like it is when the accelerator is pushed), it throws the short arm forward quite a bit - too much to actually make the throttle arm on a carb go up like it should.
This helped me tremendously. However I can’t find the holes on the intake manifold/head to fasten the bracket. I have the 200 engine. Do some heads have the threaded holes and others maybe not. Any help would be great
I don't think all years had the bolt holes, since it was only used with this oddball linkage and I can't see Ford having the bosses and holes drilled and tapped on all of them. Here is that picture again - I marked the 2 bolts with a red arrow. The boss for the bolts is a very obvious part of the intake log casting. Check your intake too where I circled in green. It will be a date code and a casting number. On my '70, it has a date of "0F11" which is May 11, 1970 - the casting code is C9DE What is yours marked?
It is a may 76. That must be the reason for no bosses. I have the 70 linkage it looks like the later linkage bracket would work or I have to fabricate some kind of bracket
