    That explains it clearly. It appears a throttle bracket from a later model Maverick (mounted on drivers side pulling across)is the proper solution. I will keep searching for one

    That is an old picture from my files - it is the bracket and cable I was trying to find for you the other day. I must have given it away to someone else, as it isn't here anymore ............. :(

    But it is a very common bracket used by lots of Fords that had the I-6 motors. Feel free to copy that picture and put it in classified wanted ad - I'm sure lots of guys have one in their parts pile from when they did the V8 swap.

    They both mount at the same place, the carb stud on the intake, so I don't think it would be an issue. Also the factory shop manual does not distinguish between engine sizes which they normally will if there is a difference.

    Hopefully Craig will post - he has parted many cars out and should know. Then you will know for sure.

    Before you send anything - get confirmation from someone else, like Craig.

    Also note - throttle cables are different from the 1970 style to the other 6's

    I would just like to be clear about what I'm saying about the throttle cable. The 1970 has it's own style of cable and you might find it necessary to swap out everything to get it right. Pedal, cable and bracket.

    That is what I figured and I planned on sending all three as the cable has the tab instead of the pin like the early cables.

    I am pretty certain that the bracket is all the same. And like stated, the cable would also need to be changed.

    CAn someone give me the length of part 9772 that attaches to the carb? My linkage does not look correct and I belive that the previos owner
