Hotrocks video of the high revving stick shifted cars is what I like & is what I`m trying to build.It`s what I grew up with,I get so bored watching automatics which don`t take nearly as much skill to drive & I know are`nt as much fun to drive.I used to go to Rockingham NC during the 80s & watch the super stockers race the 2 events they held every year with the big boys,Pro Am Nationals & I forget what the fall race was called.No sound matches any small blk turning 10 or 11,000 rpm & dropping the hammer on the starting line,there was no such thing as a 2 step rev limiter in those days.Just wind her up as high as you can & she either blows or GOES,that was drag racing.I really want to go back to the midwest oneday & watch The Ozark Mountain Super Shifters race one time,they are the fastest in the nation,check out their videos & you will be impressed or you just don`t like drag racin.

My cousin has a Boss 429 sitting in his garage. Came out of the 6th 429 down the line in 70. Car was cut up back in the day for a dirt track car. I’ve got a 429 CJ A bulkhead block, I’m trying to gather up parts to build for my 72 Cougar. But my favorite would have to be a 427 SOHC.
If I could wave a magic wand and the engine would appear already installed with 9", posi, subframe connecters, and reliable transmission, I would like a 351 based 408....just a mild build with 500 street friendly , pump gas, ponies and all the torque you normally need.
