I’m just looking through all these comments and I’m just thinking to myself why don’t they pull the nut all the way off and then yank it? That always works for me and I’ve never stopped the threads or destroyed the nut.
Doesn’t always work... I have removed a ton of steering wheels and a lot of times that works. But sometimes they are stuck on there and require a puller.
If the steering wheel has been removed before, you usually can manhandle it off. If the factory put there, better get a puller. I think I bought mine at a swap meet for maybe $10. Of course we are talking 1992 dollars there.
Assunin' one is going to reinstall same wheel, yanking on it is a bad idea. Old plastic cracks & I seen wheels bent from excess force. No not me, I'm the 97 Lb weakling.
Most likely can get a loaner from one of the BBox retailers and not got thru the yanking, bending, cracking or sweat getting it off --- Just a thought.
