Has anyone done this swap? Been talking to Steve at modern driveline and before I can get the transmission I need to figure out mounting for shifter before it leaves there. Problem is I haven't got the V8 in the car yet to do measurements. Just wondering if someone else could shed some light on it for me, as I would like to order it and get it coming my way. Not a big deal with bucket seats, but I'm keeping the bench. Thanks.

Don't know about the TKX and bench seat...but the '85 World Class T5 and bench seat is doable.

The tkx gives you 3 positions for the shifter and thats what I'm trying to determine, thanks.

It seems to me if you had them put it in a location that matches a T5 you would be good. That would probably be the farthest back of the three locations. That's where my TKO is and it's in about the same spot as the T5.

It's a home brewed concoction of scrap steel. I spotted one made for an early Mustang with a TKO and thought something like it would be easy to build and should work. Screenshot_20191121-043122_Samsung Internet.jpg 20191128_094245.jpg

I actually found 71 gold after looking at your stuff and he makes a t5 kit I think will work. I definitely appreciate you getting to me though!

Frank makes a nice piece, I haven't heard any issues with them. One of those was my first thoughts but when I saw the Mustang piece I decided to make my own, much cheaper that way!

It is stout, I have added reinforcements since that picture was taken.

Yeah I'm getting ready to order my trans package from modern driveline on Monday. Got alot work ahead of me ,if I was smart I'd leave the 200 6 and the 3spd and get good gas mileage. Save some money too!
