took a break from digging and hauling dirt.
A friend of mine called and asked if I had gotten the squawk out of my power steering. I told him no and he asked me to bring it down and he would go over it with his stethoscope and see if we could find where it is coming from.
I hopped in the Mav and...:outtahere:
3 minutes at the most I was there. popped the hood and he probed around in a few places and said..."it's coming from the rack". I thanked him, jumped back in the car and :drive:...:chirp:back to the house.
I thought it might be the rack so I had ordered one several months ago from Rod N Custom.
I shot it up on my lift and 30 minutes later...ready to go back in.

    got the new rack installed...
I went ahead and touched up a little paint while I was under there.
the rusty look on the rack and sway bar is the reflection off my orange t-shirt.

My hat is off to you! That is going to look excellent...I hope to see it finished. I entered my 73 in a local car show, (second ever car show attended, first entry,) and came home with best in "under construction"....I told the judges I didn't know it was a car show, thought my wife was trying to drop me off at a nursing home....wish I could send pics..

More dinking around with the cluster. Made a backing plate for the gauges with help from the snoopervisor. Also opened up both portals for better viewing of the gauges.

Frank, you are right on the offset, never noticed how far it was until you mentioned it!

Well maybe is the age !!! Couldn’t found the rear glass latch covers so I make them from aluminum,
Anti slip tape , and double sided tape I don’t think they are available..

Got my front end back on after having it off to clean up and paint. Installed new head lights. Got to go for a spin after sitting for a year. Really fun to have it operational to just cruise around in. Maybe the best part is my dad came to my house to help out so we got to spend some nice time together working on the Mav.
