SN95 Mustang Radiator Install - A Long Time Coming

    Ah nice, I forgot that the horn was there... Removed mine when I bought the car because it didn't work and never got a replacement lol.

    These are both nice installations. Between being crossflow radiators and the increased frontal area they're a nice upgrade in cooling performance.

    what I like about an E-fan is they run a constant air flow even at idle. with my E-fan and E-water pump sitting in traffic the fan cycles on and off.

    They waste gas and don't come anywhere close to moving as much air as my Taurus fan, especially at low engine speeds. Had one fly apart once, took out the upper radiator hose. But, yes, they are simple.

    As I said, they don't work for every vehicle. But since you replied twice; You're still putting a load on the engine via the alternator, so you're "wasting" the same amount of gas; conservation of energy, and it's really a negligible amount. I too have had an old fiberglass flex fan explode, except it nearly took my arm off. I never run fiberglass flex fans, and I'm sure in 20 years I'll have an old ass electric fan blow up on me too. Suppose a fan shroud would've been helpful at that time. Yes, idle airflow isn't the best, but it's sufficient for most vehicles. Fan clutch is also a major improvement for when you're moving and the fan is not needed, but can be a failure point. And on that subject they make tons of different fan blade styles. The 18" 7 blade GM fans work well, and are available at your local autoparts store, which is a huge plus. Where as electric fans from the autoparts store are all trash, and unless you have a summit/speedway/etc. near you, you'll have to order one online. Wiring can get ugly and difficult with an electric fan, and most fords are going to require an alternator upgrade, as they only put out 60amps, a Taurus fan draws 20-25amps on high speed. But yeah... Electric fans are great at idle, and maybe saving some room in the engine bay.
