"There is no way that screw is going into that welded bracket on the body. I have other two screws in, but not this one." Roger, my interior had plastic push pins in those locations like these: Bruce
Thanks. I have some of those with the little wing tabs. The passenger side screw went right in. I just dont understand why just that one on the dirver is so far off when all the other driver screws are in.
both sides on my car are different. They don't all hit the tabs, and you can see where some tabs were redrilled. I think poor fit and hasty assembly was common.
Put my door skin on. Been holding on to it for several year. Found out the door clips slide in the hole against the curve side of the hole, not the flat side like I thought. For the arm rest pads, I got the clips. You slide the top up and use a little screw driver so the bottom snaps into the same square groove. The door window crank is from some old work van.
that looks like a deluxe door panel but it looks like those are the short arm rest and base not deluxe.
Didnt know there was a diff. I knew there were the 3 point L shaped and the strait. I didnt know there were 2 diff length on the strait. Will the deluxe fit any early door (mine is a 1970) or do the pin holes have to be there and wider for the base to fit? I dont wanna pull my door panel back off to look.
the deluxe arm rest is longer and the base is chrome plated plastic. I'm not sure about the 1970 models. I don't know if the 70's had deluxe door panels or not. I have never owned a 70 but I would think that the grabber might have them. I'm sure someone on here would know for sure.
Here is a '71 Grabber armrest. I think the deluxe armrest was an option and has nothing to do with a Grabber. You will need to relocate the clip for the armrest screws to the other slots in the door to use different size armrest.
But is that hole/slot on a 70 door? Its moot right now cuz im gonna move on to the next thing. Ill circle back and pop off the door panel eventually.
Here is the same '71 Grabber door without the panel and it only has 2 holes/slots. Primer door in pic above is my '74 door.
Punched some holes in the carpet for the front seat and seatbelt and painted my speaker grills. Front seatbelts arrived today.
Finally got my back package tray in after a long back order. Do the two side trim pieces on either side of the deck need to come off?
