I’m sure this has been asked but I’m still learning to use this website. But I’m swapping a 1990 crown Vic 5.0 and aod trans into my 1970 Maverick. I know I need to swap the oil pan, timing cover and water pump to the old style setup. I’m hoping to use my column shifter. Just putting together a cool cruiser. Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated. I’m leaving the efi. Any ideas on someone who makes a good fuel pump? Any other suggestions?

Crown Vic uses std rotation water pump, been used many times for replacement of older pumps. The opening for front sump oil pan dipstick can be drilled out. CV wiring harness will be difficult to adapt. One from a fox T-Bird is similar to Mustang, allows use of passenger side intake(rotate 180*). You will need a throttle body, Stang guys used to about give them away, probably not these days.

BTW be sure throttle cable for AOD is correctly set up, you'll fry its clutches if not.
