That's what I was thinking. If its the same spindle, why shouldn't that kit work on my Comet. I don't see why someone would sell me a Granada stye spindle when I already have that spindle.
I spoke with a tech at Willwood since I am planning to put their kit on my '71. They guarentee that the drum brake spindle on the '71-'72 will work but will not guarentee later years. I believe this is because the kit was made for Mustangs and the Maverick just happened to use the same components. I learned this after pulling the entire disk brake assembly from a '75.
Aside from the true '70 having larger bearings & tie rod opening, they are same spindles. The 69½ Maverick spindle would be exact same as '67 Mustang, those used same spindle disc or drum.
Well thats good to hear. Thank you. So I can use them but need 67 mustang outer tie rods, correct? The aftermarket brake kit should be fine for the 67 mustang spindles. And there are no geometry issues either?
Any Fairlane, Mustang, Falcon, Cougar 1967- 1969 tie rod will work. I have '68 Torino disc spindles on my '72 Comet. Installed the '67 brakes on my '69
