Glad things went well for you. One thing I don't like about their install method is the main battery cable is always hot to the starter. If that wire does get against the header or rubs through against anything. I guess GM did it for years, so make sure you secure them wires.

The diagram you have there will work just fine Derrick. The one I put up is the way I wired it I guess about three years ago now.
I'm sure it will give me trouble any minute. :)

so is that the only differance between the two sets ups? or why that way over the other.

I don't think there is much of a difference either way. Ray and I have ours wired with the jumper method without any problems (knock on wood)

The way I read the warning is that the starter in some cases will act as a generator and produce enough voltage to keep the solenoid engaged.

WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL A JUMPER WIRE BETWEEN THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND THE SOLENOID BLADE TERMINAL AT THE STARTER TO AVOID THE USE OF THE 12 GUAGE WIRE. IF DONE VOLTAGE IS GENERATED TO THE SOLENOID BY THE STATER SPINNING AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE START KET OF BUTTON, CAUSING THE STARTER TO REMAIN ENGAGED, RESULTING IN SEVER DAMAGE AND EVENTUAL FAILURE OF THE STARTER.

Fire it up and enjoy the completed project :beerchug:

i think i'm just freaked out cuz over a few years ago my solenoid for some reason got stuck when i was starting the car.. it wasn't fun not to meantion to sound!

ok i tried to start it tonight.

it cranks with the key... yeah!! but.... it won't work with a hand bump starter connected to the fender solenoid...

whys that? i'm presuming the solenoid on the starter is preventing any juice to the fender solenoid? that correct?

THe key does the same thing as the remote button you connect to the solenoid. Dumb question, but are you sure you've put one of the switches wires on the hot side of the solenoid and the other on the kicker wire? there's another small terminal on some solenoids that is for ignition power.

Yepo. Such is life. Absent mindedness is the mark of a true cool person. (trying to make us all feel better here. Could we all just play along on this one please?).

YES THIS IS A OLD POST! however i just realized when i said i was going to buy another for the "other" car it was going to take me literally almost 6 years to date to actually buy it and put it in my car. did it today since my old one was about to die! plus i actually found out i hooked the other one up in this post wrong but it still works. lol!

man when you think you are going to do something it take awhile! lol! wish i had more time in the day!
