i've been thinking about tinting my windows and putting new wheels on my stock 73' comet..... does anyone have any pics..or any wheels they think would look good?!! thanks...
My daily driver has tinted windows, and there are a number of [laces where you can see that the film doesn't conform perfectly to the glass (tight corners, over the rear defogger wire connections). Not only do I find this unattractive, but I can't help but think that eventually this stuff is going to stat to lift at this spots, and spread out from there. Also, when the windows are part way down, you can see that the film doesn't go to the very edge of the glass. Again, I don't like the way this looks. Maybe there are higher quality products or applications out there, but if I could snap my fingers and make it go away, I wouldn't hesitate. John B.
If you're going to tint your windows, be advised that due to the compound curvature of the back window, you will not be able to use one single piece of tint as it will not conform to the glass properly. You'll have to cut it into at least 2 pieces, and be very precise lining up the edges or you'll have an ugly seam.
i think this is so it doesn't start to peel when going in and out of the channel... my back glass was tinted with one piece.. ... ...
Your correct! Thats why when you cut out the tint for your window it should be all the way up so your tint doesnt cover all the way over to the outside edge of the glass. It would not take long catching that channel felt with every up to peel that tint off. I tinted my back glass in my old 71 LeMans with one piece. It has more of a compound curve than a Maverick. It took about 2 hours and alot of patients but its worth it! Also dont go too dark because that a real PITA at night too see out of. Plus cops like to ticket for that crap. I would say 30-35% for your side glass.
Limo Black Tint is for Sissys... Mirrored office building tint!!!!! matches car when it reflects blue sky yes a total bust but who cares... i have friends. which reminds me i need to redo this tint. my older everyday driver had 35% front 45% on the rear... this is what it looks like at dusk yeah it a rice rocket but it will run circles round your mavericks around corners anyday anyways if your one that doesn't want to get a fix it ticket check your local laws first. most will say you cannot have any tint front forward of the drivers head not to menation you cannot have the rear window tinted if you do not have a right hand side mirror. windshields are 100% legal until you get caught if your going to do it yourself use titaimum tint if someone else is ask for it.... it a way better tint... or should i say more better... lol! anyways it is a bit refective but better at night. but remember the darker you go with this kind of tint the hard it will beable to see out. not becuase of how dark it is, but how reflective if becomes at night when guage cluster lights reflect off the window. if they guy is good you can do it in one piece.
