no fire...anywhere... replaced...pertronix (new)...no diff. (removed) ...old and new tested to be good. replaced...coil...(new) no diff. (removed) replaced...coil...(new diff. one) again no diff. (removed) replaced...pertronix (new diff. one) again...fired right up me and a bunch of folks :Handshake have been......with this problem on and off for 5-6 days. Moral of this story...don't think just because you bought it new it is ...good. ...and guess who turned the key when it started... HER ......
Make sure your have a constant 12V going to the Pertronix or you will have intermittent starting problems ...
thanks :Handshake ...this was the same setup i had on my old motor...worked fine. i might have shorted something on the reinstall.. ......
Pertronics, you talking about the module that goes in your old distributor or a complete Pertronics distributor?
i hate electrical problems. i had one last year. ended up changing the tranny, torque convertor, carburetor, etc. only to find it was the msd box.
PHOTOCHOP! Strangest thing I've ever seen/heard. Did the radiator lose it's charge when you got the new Pertronix?
if i think about it i will check today... i also had the same reading on 1 of my heater hoses... being i didn't have any power for my ...dist...i thought about hooking a jumper wire from the heater hose clamp to the dist. ......
Now I just wonder how many people will go out and check every hose under their hood for voltage ....I know I will
this is a stupid sugestion but you check the wires going to the coil to make sure they are hooked up right?
