for those of you with painted engine bays, what color did you paint the block?

I'm painting the engine bay body color, grabber blue, and was going to go with a black painted block, thought it would look best, and that a blue block would be too much. I also like the black valve covers with alum ribs, not sure if that would be too much black

pics of engine bays would be kick ass, or statements of what you did on your resto...I'm trying to decide how I want my bay to look

Is there another color other than Ford blue?

I went with semi flat black for the engine bay. Ford blue for the engine block...

I painted my block the same color blue as the blue on the car. Depending on what color, if your going to add stripes to your car, I'd paint the engine to match.

the exterior of the car will be grabber blue with NO stripes.....the engine bay is already decided, and will be sprayed grabber blue along with the body when it's painted in the next few weeks...basically my biggest question is would a blue bay and a blue block be too much blue

My block is Ford dark blue but with aluminum heads, intake, water pump and black valve covers its hardly noticable. The engine bay is factory grabber blue

I think it would look pretty cool painting it the same color.

On the all red V8 Maverick I painted the engine bay semi-gloss black and the red and white 6 cylinder Maverick the engine bay is the same red as the exterior color. Both engine blocks I painted ' Old Ford Blue '.

Jeremy, my car is grabber blue with a grabber blue block with aluminum heads. I really like it and everyone else seems to also. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll post a pic of it for you by tomorrow.

thanks for the pic, that really helps a lot, as I'll be grabber blue too......

    that does look really good.

My maverick is going to be an efi setup, so I'm leaning towards a modern look, and I may go with the black block, black and aluminum valve covers, and alum look intake with black stripes in the fins (explorer intake)....no polished alum I think

    Thanks :)

Still got a little tweaking and detailing to do to make it better. Katrina put 4 feet of water in this car and I'm just not getting her back to where I can put in it some shows again.
