    I bought screw on fittings... I linked them above... take the time to check em out :)

    I knew better than buy crimp on fittings as I knew I wouldnt be able to attach them.

    Is the hose series 200? different hose series take different fittings.
    Is the fitting -4x-4? for 1/4" hose and a 1/4" fitting?
    If the answer is yes to both questions then you got a wrong/mispackaged part. Either the hose or the fitting. My bet goes on the hose being wrong.

    I was going to link you the hose I got off of ebay but it isnt available anymore. It was listed as -4 Nitrous line

    It had 2 hose ends on it as it was one piece...
    Bought 1/8 NPT to -4 AN male fittings for the transmission... screwed the line to that.... on other end these other fittings i bought wont work for some reason...

    I dont really care what fittings I have to get... as long as the damn thing will work... I've already invested the money into 2 hose ends, 2 AN to NPT fittings, 2 04 AN to 1/8 NPT female, and 2 1/8 NPT to barb fittings for my tranny line.

    I just need to know what the heck I need to buy. Ive bought the wrong part somewhere, and im assuming its the hose ends.

    Is there different outside diamaters for the hoses?

    That hose is listed as 308 series. The easy way out of this is to take your hose and fittings to a local hydraulic hose retailer and get the right fittings for your hose. It is easy for those guys to set you up with the right pieces. No more hassles or worries.

    Just FYI...

    After doing my first AN fitting...the cutting tool is the deciding factor.

    A cutting wheel makes the rubber get hot and flares out the end so it won't fit to get started into the fitting. The end that was cut at the factory slipped right in (requiring only moderate force to push and turn it in) but after making 3-4 cuts with various amounts of tape etc. I have found that a cold cut is required to make it fit.

    I now have to wait until Sears or someone is open so I can buy a cable cutting tool. If I keep cutting 1/2" off, I will soon be too short to use the remaining hose...

    Tape it up and use a dremel disk... what I did

    Mine doesn't have rubber in the middle... only a nylon/plastic thing

    Im not sure mines a 308 series... but i know its smaller than normal.

    Will a hydraulic place deal w/ the teflon/plastic center of the hose instead of the rubber that most have?

    I used a dremel for the first cut, on braided 3/8" fuel line. It still generated enough heat to make it swell and flare out.

    THE SOLUTION--Lowe's, Home Depot, etc sell a "High Leverage Cable Cutter" for $15-20 depending on brand. Taped it up, snipped it off, and it slid right in. Even easier than the first one I did with the "factory" cut.

    Thanks for the tip.

    My dremel did well on the hose I have... which isnt like yours, so thats why I offered.


    Im still looking 2 buy the AN fittings for my type of hose.

    this is all very interesting.. i am going to redo my lines.. i figure i can get the line length figured out.. the AN size to get and then make the lines in the basement.. then go out to the car.. remove and replace and maybe have it all done in a couple hours

    but i need to know what sizes you all recommend for the tranny..

    original line is 1/4.. but i was thinking of going larger diameter.. theory.. moves more fluid.. keeps tranny cooler

    pros and cons welcome

    The fittings in the transmission are 1/8 NPT thread...

    That equals out to about a -4 AN fitting. This is why I used that.
    I was going to go to -6 AN line, but I got a good deal on -4 AN on ebay so I bought it.

    Yes, the hydraulic supply house can deal with just about anything you bring in. They will have fitting - or be able to get fittings for any kind of hose.
