Surface rust was starting to appear on the tail light panel of my Mav below the tail lights ...the Factory paint had gotten too thin to protect the metal any longer. Frank suggested bringing the car to his house so he could help me work on it. My car christened this side of his shop...No other car has been parked there before. More pics to come....
So I'm guessing you got your correct green paint for the panel? You coming to AMS this weekend? Hope you work fast!
Done! (this pic does not do justice to how well it came out.) I want everyone to know that I helped Frank a little with this Project. We started on it together on Saturday, then I was out of town on Sunday for a long overdue visit to see my Dad. Then Monday I was at the doctor most of the day. Frank did at least 90% of this project while I was gone. He did a VERY nice job ,and this just goes to show what kind of person he is. I could go on and on about the Extra effort he puts into everything he does , But the most important thing is the effort he puts into a being a friend. Thanks Frank. :Handshake
Looks good Mike. How much did Frank pay you for that tribute? We all know Effie is the technician around that garage.
Mike, Has your car ever been repainted anywhere? Below the lite green...was it black behind the rear bumper?
Craig , I had removed the bumper and sanded away some surface rust last year and then painted that area with Black "rust encapsulator" from the Eastwood company. Also I wanted to point out that the Trunk lid is not fully closed in the pic above, we hadn`t put on the new weatherstrip yet. Also the "thing" you see between the gas cap and the right tail light is the battery disconnect switch, but the nob was not installed yet.
...that's all Mike had to do...did it get done...no! if it wasn't for the knob being in his pocket (and him at his Dads eating steak) i would have put it on. ... Mikes' friend Frank...
