The bride and I were discussing the need for a spare tire on the way back from Jax-ville Fla. (as i haven't had one as long as i have owned a mav.)
i am looking at the 15"x 3.5" weld pro star[IMG] to match my rims. it will be like a matching "donut" type tire and rim.:yup:
what do you use for a spare?

I was thinking of tossing my street slicks back in the trunk. Never know when you might need THEM:thumbs2:

I think that is a good idea Frank, that way it won't take up as much space in the trunk!
I use my trailer for a spare :p

Frank ,that sounds like a good plan. I am going to paint up a magnum 500 wheel I have and carry it as a spare, have not had a spare in my Stallion since, well I think I took it out when I bought it.

    The original spare. :D

I do think that Effie's idea of getting a narrow Pro Star is a great one.

This guy (have no idea who he is) has a spare tire, but I don't it will fit in a Maverick trunk.

When my "collection of parts" becomes a Maverick, I'm going use a stock rim with a 195/75-14 tire.

Keep anything sharp away from him, looks like it could go off with little help.

'94-'98 Mustang space saver spare is an excellent fit.

We keep a spare in the Maverick. But so far, the two times I have needed it, we had taken it out temporarily for one reason or another. Drive 30,000+ miles with a spare tire in the trunk and never use it, the one day I drive without it I walk out of work at lunch brake to a flat RF tire. Go figgure.

That'd be real funny 'ceptn I'm talking about the spare for "Buttercup". I have two Mavericks, remember? (nanny-nanny boo-boo!)

(No comment on the trailer thing regarding the red one - other than, "OW!")

Keep on the lookout in the junkyards and you can find late model Lincolins and Mercs with aluminum donuts!
They are light as a feather and use the 5 on 4.5" pattern.

I have a steel version from a 90-something Merc right now, but will trade up to aluminum when I find one laying at my favorite yard.
