There were 6 Mavericks there including mine, I think it was like a mini-meet! Straw Boss was there, and Mike Weaks' blue/white one with the Cleveland as well as a few others. I went out in the second round, but I looked good doing it. My battery died in the staging lanes as I was up in eliminations, I got a jump and back in the lanes. My trunk lock fell out when I went to charge and then I cut a horrible light. I had a great weekend though. I even got a little air under the front tires. The density altitude was close to 3000, it was 94-98 degrees and the car was running the slowest it ever has, but Milan is a great track to drive down!
The restored Barrie Poole Comet(Border Bandit?) was in the car show. It is well done.

What a great race, sorry I didn't say hello mavdvm. Now I know what your car looks like

Here are some pics of the Barrie Poole car. Owner fired it and gave me a ride around the pits! The story about how he came to get the car and condition, etc is a really good magazine article waiting to be written. Huge history

Enjoy, I have a crap load more pics if anyone wants to see them

Yes, Barrie signed the car as such after it was done "Border Bandit". It's been thru several owners before Ivan (current owner) bought it. After it was raced the next owner painted it black and put it on the street.

Few more, original slicks, dana 60 with slapper bars

Check the master cylinder thru the floorboard and the fancy turn signal

Do you have any of my car? We were both racing so really didn't get any except for the picture I bought(there was air under the front tire, I had to!).
I took pictures of other people's Mavericks in the pits, but none racing. I took a lot of the Barrie Poole car.

Thanks! I just like to look at it from any angle. Look at the size difference between my rear glass and the car in front of me!
