In think the 10 1/2" wide wheels are WAAYY to wide for your car.

    really? i wasnt sure
what would be the consequences of having them that wide?
would they just stick out the sides or would there be other problems?

They would stick out the sides.....WAY out the sides. Then you would have tires rubbing, unless you jack up the rear of the car....but that is hard on the suspension and the alignment.

It is not like it is close......the 10 1/2" are WAY to wide. I would go no wider than an 8" Reverse Cragar on the rear.

Our cars look good with 15X7 all around, go 15X8 on the rear but keep the rubber at 245 wide or narrower unless you want to start modifying the wheelwells (there will be lots of argument, and I can argue that I am using 255, but the 245 will fit conservatively without ANY modifications and no rubbing).

What size tires and wheels exactly are you running on all 4 corners?

Front rims are 15X7, rears are 15X8 Cragar S/S

Tires are 215/60r15 front, 255/60r15 rear, BFG T/As

Fronts are not T/As, just used tires I bought in a different size to see what I like on there...i didn't want to spend full price on tires to find that I didn't like the size. The first were 195/60 and were WAY too narrow and low, so I swapped them for 215, and I think they are just about right. Might try 225, but afraid they may be too tall and would be too difficult to turn with manual steering...

If I am not mistaken, 4-1/4" BS all around. Before you buy based on my report, ask me to take a tire off and measure for you, because I am not 100% fer-sure on the backspacing measurement.

i am running 215/60/14 on the front with a 6" rim and 275/60 15 on the rear with an 8" rim. to fit a 275 you will have to roll the fender lip. 255 will clear with no bodywork.

Thank you :) and in that case... Take a tire off and check the backspacing :D

Your 255s don't rub at all or what?

The 255s will just barely rub on hard takeoffs on the outside edge. I have driven them quite a ways like this without serious damage, just a scratched line in the rubber. I solved the problem with slapper bars, and then the caltracs.

EDIT--Took off the tires and found two things new...

One, front backspace is 4", rear backspace is 4-1/4".

Two--rear inner wheelwell is rubbing just a bit on the 255s also. Again, not damaging anything, just lightly rubbing on hard takeoffs.

I had absolutely no rubbing issues on the 245s...FWIW

I just wanted to make another observation on the original post:
10.5" rims are way too wide for the 255 tires that are on there.
I bet they look round like balloons on those rims!

These are from September car show...most recent ones I have. Won't have a chance to take any more pics for a few days due to a couple of tropical storms just starting to hit here. Rain started up just about an hour ago...
