Well, it's been 7 months since my Grabber hood went to my buddies to
get repaired. He's actually finished it several times, but it was never
really ready when I went to get it. I went as far as dropping my car
off the other night at the shop so he could install it, line it up and
all that good stuff. He says it will BE DONE today. I guess the good thing
is I never had to have the hood back since I had my stock hood on the car. I'll post pictures tomorrow of how it turned out. This is the before link....

Still not ready. He left early yesterday because of the heat. Supposed to be ready to pick up today. He does great work but I wouldn't let him take
my car home...I'd never get it back....lol I hope to post pictures later tonight.

    Update

I called him this afternoon to check on it and he said it was ready but he
needed to line it up. Since he can't really do anything on company time
I am meeting him at the shop tomorrow morning to grab the car and bring it home. His boss is not in on Saturday's so he can get it done. I'm sure he
is ready to see it go. Find out if the $375 was worth all this time and delays. he said it would have been nice to have a donor hood, but he was
able to patch in metal were it was rusted. The issues I had with the hood
the first time it was finished was that the hood edge had drawn back in some after he patched it. Couldn't tell until we put it on the car. Sort of
freaked me out to watch him whack it with a hammer to tweak it. Of course it will be in primer when I get it back....not paint yet.

I got the car back and the hood is not finished yet. It's now to a point
were I want to stomp a mud hole in my body guy. We agreed to met up at
the shop at 4pm yesterday. So I left work early to make sure I got there
before he left. Low and behold, he took off at 3pm and I passed him on the road. I wasn't able to catch him, so I called the shop to make sure my
car was there. It was and the hood was on it and the keys were in it. When I first looked at it, I was happy...then I opened the hood and the
lip was still not right, there was some rubbery puddy crap on the ends
of the hood edge inside and he had broken my grill. I had to find the
scoops in the shop. I packed up and left. I called him this morning and
he was surprised I was mad. I had to explain to him that if he didn't
think he could fix the hood the right way, he should have never taken
it. I told him he's had it for 8 months..come on. After some harsh words
he told me to bring it to the shop at 8am Saturday morning. We'll see what happens. He can fix it or he is refunding my cash. I'll post pics tonight. I was too mad to take any last night.

Sorry to hear of all the problems, that can be really frustrating. It's tough when someone you utilize to "make it right" doesn't have the same passion for doing things correctly. I hope your meeting this Sat. works out in your favor and it gets corrected.

    Good Luck!

Thanks Art.....bad thing is I have known him for years and he can do
amazing work. He offered my money back and I told him it wasn't about
the money...I just need it fixed right. Who knows, after he has had time
to digest the reaming I gave him this morning he might not want to try
to make things right and just give me back my money. We'll see.

    my suggestion is...take the money...(y)
i have never been satisfied trying to ...make....someone do it right.
if you take the money and the hood goes down hill a month later you will be glad you did...:yup:

I think that is what I have decided on doing. I'll be lucky if he shows up at the shop Saturday anyway. It looks fine from 5 feet, but it's in primer too.
My sons are frustrated beyond belief with this hood. Sorry no pictures yet,
my daughter took the camara on vacation with her. Didn't realize that until
I asked the wife where it was....

    Pictures..finally

Went out to the shop today at 8am sharp. Had a long talk with my body man and we sorted things out. Never left until about 12:30pm but I left
a lot more happy. He fixed and painted my grill, blocked out the hood were it was screwy looking and is going to stop over and fix a few minor things
for me. I got my hood and he got to keep the money I paid him. Here is
the link to the photo's.....I think I got my moneys worth...NOW..(y)
