Dang it! after the last pic, I'm realy re-thinking the medium lime origanal paint on mine... Acapulco blue is lookin good....
Yep, it is a 351W. We just found the 393 stroker kit for it today and we pick up the Roush heads tomorrow.
From the factory, was the hood color on a Grabber a decal or painted? I know it varies by year a little bit, so which years had paint vs. decal? Thanks!
Can you update/repost this link? I couldn't get it to work this morning. Were the side stripes always vinyl decal? My yellow/orange '72 is being painted this week that is why I ask. Anyone have a template already set up at a vinyl shop for a '72 hood decal? Thanks!
I think those were pictures of a White Grabber with Yellow/Orange Stripes and an Orange Taillight panel. Side Stripes were always vinyl ...
Do you still have those pictures around some where that I could see them? Was '70 the only year that had the stripe on the cowl?
Here you go ... I think these are the pics I had posted before ... http://web.mac.com/dmhines/iWeb/Our Website/Mavs and Comets.html
Re: Phoenix Graphix should have these. Tell them what color you want and they would probably make them. http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ford.htm#maverick I just got my Comet decals from them. Their flyer says they do all cars decals and have a good satisfied customers page with lots of Hollywood cars to their credit. I'm anxious to get the decals applied... Dave
I have one. Bought new by my family in 1971. Original paint job. The racing stripe is definitely orange, but not super bright.
72 Grabber I do have some pictures, but I have to find them, actually and scan them into the computer. My dad bought the car new, and sold it to me for a buck about 4 years ago, which the promise that I would keep it garaged. It has about 124k miles on it, and I took it out every couple of weeks for a spin. About 2 months ago, it wouldn't start, It's turning over and will start when I spray starter fluid into the carbourater, but dies as soon as it is gone. I changed the fuel filter, same results. Any thoughts or suggestions? I think I may have a gunked up fuel line as that tank of gas has been in there for a long time now. Car still has original paint, motor, and interior. It actually looks pretty good but could use some work to get it into really tip-top shape. One other question, this car did not have AC. For some reason my dad could never figure out, it never put out much, if any heat when you'd turn the heater on. It's no fun to drive in the winter. But, it's a cool care and I'd like to get it going again. thanks, hubes
