72 Turbo Maverick Project (UPDATES 10/21/09) Here are some photos of my Maverick project. The car is a rust bucket but the flat black epoxy primer really made it look better... I am using stock manifolds reversed with a Master Power T70. I have all of the hotside plumbing completed. I just got the engine bay all painted up and am ready to put the engine and trans in for final. Then it will be time build the megasquirt and wire the car. I hope to have it running before the snow flies...which could be any time living in South Dakota! More photos to come as the build continues. I will post the hotside pictures tonight. 10/10/07: added some pictures of the turbo plumbing and a teaser picture of the 80mm Garrett T6 that may be going on it...
That is one bad a** looking mav i love the wheel and tire combo.Heck the engine plans don't sound bad either.
The rears are 15x8 GM truck ralley rims with Ford centers welded in them. The fronts are 15x4 GM space saver spares with Ford centers. 165/15 in the front and 275/60 in the rear for tires. Best regards, Tony Reiners
The only problem with dog dish caps is the first thing i hear anymore is ''I bet that thing is quick'' I would really hate to have to put whitewalls on it to keep the sleeper image up
haha, just put some duct tape around the caps to "hold them on" so to speak, and get it nice n dirty... they'll think it's a POS... in kentucky anyway
Get some pics of the turbo setup posted. A friend and I plan on doing one of these setups on a "spare" Maverick I have and I'm very intersted in how you have yours setup.
It is going to be EFI. Using a Megasquirt for engine management. Truck EFI lower intake with a Downs box upper intake. (see photos). I may play around with a blow through down the road as it intrigues me. Best regards, Tony Reiners
