...with a 302/C4. The back of the car has practically rusted to death. The rearend is good, the engine and tranny are good but everything else is about gone. It hit a pole on the drivers wheel so the front end is probably wasted as well.
Shame too. It was good looking with a gold body and a white top and interior.
    Under $100 and it's mine.

Argh! The guy JUST sold a 78 Cobra II last week for $800! 289/4 speed and a posi. Said it was white and blue like I like 'em too!

Now that you have this drive train what are you going to do with it?

I don't know that I am buying it yet but I really want the drivetrain.
It looks dangerous to lift for the removal though.
I'll have to get a picture to truly illustrate the rot properly. The roof has disintegrated to the point of nothing but the braces and the vinyl remains. The sail panels are completely separated from the lower body where they met it originally. No floor, no trunk.
The guy said it ran fine when it was parked but due to it's condition it could not be repaired and was totalled out.
If I had a complete driveline I could start rebuilding a nice motor and tranny combo for my Comet without having to park my ride.

I figure it might be worth $100 just for that.

Oh and it has cool V8 emblems on the front fenders.

yea sounds like a good deal. ebay anything you dont need like interior trim and stuff like that then get the scrap metal $ for whats left of the body. im sure the M2 v8 swap stuff would have value.

It was slammed on the drivers wheel, dead center, into a pole so I bet the MII suspension is trashed. That sucks because I wouldn't mind having that stuff for some future swap in the Comet.

I'm going back tomorrow for some more info and some pictures. I asked how much..$100? He said probably not worth that much.

    I said cool and left.

Sport mirrors, floor shift, buckets? Good market for that stuff, you'll get that car for free and then some if you part it out. I agree you should go for it. There are folks out there who are as nutty about their MII's as we are about our Mavs, you can sell just about everything.

The sport mirrors work on our cars too.
The rears are often well geared, or posi'd.
    Usually not both though...
V8s had posi with 3.00 gear, the others had 3.40s or 3.55s open.
Posi was optional with 4s and 6s, standard with v8.

The chunk with the gears and all just drops right into a Maverick rear housing.
The Stang housing will bolt into a Maverick, but it is 4 lug.:naughty:

Yes, 74 to 93 Stangs were all 4 lugs regardless of engine.

    Trivia:
In 1974 you could not get a V8 in Ford's almighty Mustang, but the lowly Maverick had the option!
