As, Earl, Jamie, and myself were about to leave the swap meet, we stopped and looked at a set of factory 14" slots that were for sale. One of us said something about them going a Maverick, when a total stranger stepped and said, "I knew I would meet some Maverick guys here today." He introduced himself as Ray Moore from St. Marks, FL. He is maverickoutlaw on this message board.

What is so funny is that this was first time Ray and I had met each other and I had sold him a car back in 2005 at this same swap meet (http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=19007). He bought the car sight unseen, based on what was said on this forum, while he was working in Irag. His two brothers-in-law took delivery. It was great to finally put a face to someone that bought a car from me. The best part is that he is happy with the car and I didn't have to duck.

Here's a pic of Ray with Jamie and Earl. Hey! I had the camera.

Pretty decent day other then the fact I have been up since 7:30 AM yesterday morning (Man, I look like hell. LOL). Were some nice cars there. Frank was there being Frank (never a dull moment :D), Effie was there also. Was good to meet Ray and see everyone again. Had a good time.

Had a great time. Glad to meet Ray, and get some parts to complete a project I have been working on for quite some time. More later. Very good day!

What a Motley Crew! :) So how did you guys rate the swap meet this year? Getting better or worse ... or just the same ... 95% non-Ford ..

There was actually quite a bit of Ford stuff there from what I saw. Would be hard to put a percentage on Ford vs. Chevy, but there were plenty of Ford cars for sale and tons of parts. Two Mavericks were there, an orange one (it had a '70 VIN, but everything about the car pointed to it being a '71-'72), and a pretty rough yellow '70 for $1,200.

Paintank, just where are you in North Carolina? I get over that way a lot. Maybe we could meet up at a truckstop sometime and talk a while.

I was there Friday and saw the Orange one (pretty nice) and the $1,200.00 one Jamie mentioned ...I would not pay $200.00 for that car!

And this one... the owner told me I WOULD NOT find a nicer Maverick anywhere...

I beg to differ ! I just smiled and said "really?"

I realy like that cars stance, tire sizes look great. Any idea of what size they were? looks like it was lowered to? Also, he spelled Cragar wrong. :biglaugh:

Yeah, Ray is a great guy. I've met up with him a couple times at Cruising The Coast. I had lunch with him and Chris (GrabberGT) this year and had a great time. What can I say, his name is Ray, he's GOTTA be a great guy!!! I think I need to put a bug in his ear too. Gotta tell him to get everybody to be seated for future photos. He makes Jamie look tall!!! :rofl2:
    Sorry Ray (maverickoutlaw)

I didn`t look at what sizes the tires where ... But you could give him a call and ask about them.

It was nice to put some faces with names. I always wandered which one was Hawko on his avatar. I always thought he would be the one with the beek. Earl and Jamie are really nice. I would have liked to see Frank again and see if how many colors his car now. Maybe we can get more people there in feb.
