orange paint schemes

im looking to paint my 73 maverick in the near future and i am looking for an orange color..... i know there is a grabber orange, but im not sure on what exactly i want so if any of you have pictures or suggestions that would be great. THANKS

I'm trying to decide weather to paint my '73 Orange, Grabber Blue or Red. No matter what color I paint it, I am going to duplicate the black along the bottom of the car like my dad's car was.

Here are a few pictures of my first maverick(1974 grabber). Pictures taken in 1982, and the original color is 5W Orange.

those are some great ideas....i do want it to be more original because when i tell people i want it orange...there like but thats a chevy color

id really like to see a maverick painted up like that mustang i posted. people definatly know thats a stang (not a chevy lol) miles away

 

Personally I like bright orange, with some red in it.
The Stang is too pale for my taste.

 

You could get a GTO in orange and that was Pontiac. Mopar had a really nice burnt orange and a bright Hemi Orange that was dayglow almost. Mercury had a competition orange for the Cougar at least because I've seen one in person. Even Honda had an orange available for their pillbug sized model 600.

Orange was not just for Camaros.

I like burnt orange personally but really any orange looks good if done right.

 

i guess that copper color isnt popular anymore? lol

 

That actually is not a factory Grabber color. Although it is a factory Ford color. Vista Orange is the name of it I believe, it was first available in 1977.
