Chuck, can you email me a bigger version of the picture? I'd like to add it to the gallery. maverick@maverick.to Thanks, Stefan
Thanks Chuck, I knew I remembered looking at them at Pugmire in 1972, Please send Stefan the articles would love to read them and would also love someone or if you have a full view pic of the car showing type of pipes and wheels on the car. Who knows might want to clone mine someday...beings I was wanting one so bad when I was 16...
I bet those Stabbers were black with red accents. Now what about if they had made a Maverick "Spanker"??? BTW those Bearcat's wheels are awesome!
I seem to remember the Stabber I looked at back then was White with Black Stripe Kit but wouldnt swear to it....that was a long time ago and I've slept since then....
I found the Thrush pipes on Ebay. Now where are those Bear Cat wheels at? Foresight's Prowler wheels is what the advert says. Google has nothing.
That is true he isnt to far from here but it is south of here (downstream) ...LOL...Sorry Hawkco...LOL....
Fantastic, cant wait to go and look at it and Hawkco your right I am closer to Alabama and even have a house in Centre Alabama at Weiss Lake, I need to start checking the Junk Yards there but with all the Alabama guys on here I sure they have been hit. Thanks again Chuck for all the Stabber info.
71 Stabber I own a 71 Stabber. My cousin bought it new in July of 71 from Pugmire Lincoln/Mercury in Marietta Ga. It is indeed called Stabber not Bearcat. Other dealers may have called them that, including Jackie Jones. Austin Pugmire (current owner) will confirm this. The sidepies on these were not real but covers. Instead they had dealer installed Thrush cherry bombs, black slotted mags, a chin spoiler and a wood grain three spoke steering wheel. My car is black with silver stripes.
