Our car was scheduled to be picked up from Dave's house (the seller) today. Shortly after the driver was scheduled to pick up the car, he called us on the phone and said "I will pick up your car right now and have it at your house tomorrow morning IF you cancel your deal with the shipping company and pay ME personally. Otherwise, your car will sit there for a LONG time because nobody is going to pick up your car." He says "I got all your information, but I am not picking up that car unless you pay me directly". We told him "No Thanks" and reported him to the shipper. Steve was so mad!

Anyway--I swear, this is gonna drive me to drinkin'! It is :bs:!

We're trying to arrange to have the car taken to Tweet's house so that there is a bigger time window for drivers to pick it up. Wish us luck! :yup:

I think the whole thing is going sour fast! Better find someone close to go get it for you, or go get it yourself.
This is why I liked dealing with a company like DAS, they called when the car was delivered to thier yard, then I had the money transfered, called the seller with the info before he left, was pretty simple.

Tweet66? If so, he is about 125 miles north of me. You are about 5 hours south of me. I have a trailer and can go get it and bring it this far south.

WOW! You guys are unbelievably sweet! :urock::wow:

Steve is on the phone right now with Tweet66. They have worked out that Tweet (who knows the seller--he turns out to be Sleeper--here on the forum) Tweet is gonna talk to Sleeper tomorrow and have the car brought to Tweet66's house tomorrow. The shipping company promises that they will not let that crazy driver within a country mile of my car. They promise that they will get another driver to pick the car up from Tweet66. If that doesn't happen soon, something else will have to be arranged. I want to just drive to NJ and get the car, but Steve is worried that it may not handle a trip that far--we really don't know. It is only used to making relatively short trips around town. We already know that the choke has a tendency to get stuck. Steve plans to put on a new carburetor (sp?)

If things don't start going my way soon, I will start waving that shipper's money at anyone on here who will help me get my Frankie! :29:

I feel really blessed to have found this forum. Can't wait to meet you all!:Handshake
